Overview:
As an AU Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Your responsibilities will primarily involve ensuring accurate and efficient management of financial records and transactions. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Job Description Ensure all payments received are accurately recorded and reconciled with bank statements. Respond promptly to inquiries regarding client accounts, providing detailed and accurate information. Address and resolve staff inquiries related to payroll and benefits with confidentiality and professionalism. Proactively follow up on overdue accounts, coordinating efforts with relevant departments to facilitate timely payments. Collaborate effectively with external agents to ensure compliance with BAS requirements and accurate financial reporting. Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring adherence to company policies. Manage payroll tax calculations, submissions, and compliance to regulatory requirements. Prepare and process payroll accurately and on schedule, including deductions and allowances. Maintain comprehensive and organized financial records, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible for audits and reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in bookkeeping tasks such as reconciling payments, managing bill payments, and maintaining financial records. - Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond to client and staff queries promptly and professionally. - Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to communicate with team members effectively and external stakeholders. - Proficiency in Xero is preferred; familiarity with other accounting software is beneficial - Experience working with Australian financial regulations, BAS requirements, and payroll tax management.
